![]() I'm not sure why the software has devolved. This older version worked much better, and had more capability. In that Scan Profile, I could specify an output doc size which was then used for the output file, whether it is PDF or whatever type. I don't see any way to specify a Scan Profile, like I could do in the older version of this HP software. However, the real size of the PDF document is 35 inches X 45 inches, not 8.5 X 11 which is what I cropped it to. I am trying to scan directly to a PDF file, and I've been able to get a very small file size like 70K. I had to experiment with the settings a few times to get the quality/file size that I wanted. ![]() Next time you scan, choose the new shortcut name you made to use the same settings. Give the shortcut a NEW name (a name that describes your new settings, etc) and it will save the settings that you've made. Move slider to left to reduce, or to the right to increase. There you can change the image quality/file size. Make sure "PDF" is chosen from the drop-down box and click on the "PDF Options" button. Then click on "Save to file Save Options" button.
